Sea and Google AI Futures Fund Collaborate to Advance AI Innovation

Singapore, 15 October, 2026 – Sea Limited (NYSE: SE), a global technology company founded in Singapore, today announced another milestone in its longstanding strategic partnership with Google, this time with Google AI Futures Fund. This new partnership brings together the capabilities and experience of two global technology companies to push the applied frontiers of artificial intelligence (AI), with practical applications for Sea’s diverse and growing businesses globally.

The collaboration marries Google’s frontier capabilities in AI with Sea’s experience building and operating AI applications at scale for major markets across Southeast Asia and Latin America. As part of this collaboration, teams across Sea will be granted access to selected frontier models by Google, as well as to experts from across Google who can contribute technical know-how towards the development and testing of Sea’s new product ideas. The work will also build on Sea’s existing in-house AI stack – including its proprietary AI models, accelerated compute infrastructure, and its application ecosystem spanning Garena, Shopee, and Monee that touches the lives of hundreds of millions of users each day.

Sea’s diverse experiences delivering digital entertainment, e-commerce, and digital financial services to major markets across Southeast Asia and Latin America give it unique insight into how everyday consumers and small businesses use technology to improve their lives. This deep understanding of local markets will guide the teams involved in this collaboration to better tailor their products to local contexts and needs, ultimately enabling them to better serve frontier AI applications in these regions.

The collaboration marks a new type of partnership for the AI Futures Fund, with Google working directly with Sea Labs, Sea’s technology innovation and development arm, to explore and develop new ideas in applied AI. It builds on Sea and Google’s expanded strategic partnership announced in February 2026, which included initiatives in gaming, agentic commerce and agentic payments.

“Our ambition to become an AI-native company goes beyond improving what we do today. It is also about discovering what we can build for the future,” said Forrest Li, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Sea. “We believe some of the most meaningful applications of AI are still to be discovered, and we want to play a part in bringing them to life. Working with Google Labs creates an exciting opportunity to explore these possibilities together, with the aim of building better products for the consumers and small businesses we serve.”

Jonathan Silber, Co-Founder and Director of Google AI Futures Fund, said: “The AI Futures Fund, part of Google Labs, works alongside ambitious teams to explore what’s next in AI. We’re excited that Sea Labs is our first partnership with an external AI lab. They bring talented builders, deep technology expertise and products that serve diverse communities worldwide. We look forward to giving their teams access to some of Google’s most advanced models and seeing what two labs can build together at the frontier of AI.”
