Singapore, 30 May 2026 — Forrest Li, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sea, met with His Excellency Tô Lâm, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, during the Vietnamese leader’s state visit to Singapore.

The meeting was an exchange of views on Vietnam’s digital economy and opportunities to deepen collaboration between Sea and Vietnam.  The discussion also covered Sea’s efforts to support the country’s digital transformation through its ecosystem of businesses, including Shopee, SPX Express (SPX), and Monee, which provide e-commerce, logistics, and digital financial services to consumers and businesses across Vietnam. General Secretary and President Tô Lâm highlighted Shopee’s positive impact in Vietnam, particularly in creating opportunities for businesses both within Vietnam and across the region, and improving access to e-commerce for consumers.

General Secretary and President Tô Lâm welcomed Sea’s strong commitment to Vietnam and expressed his strong support for the global technology company's plans to expand its presence in the market, including through the use of artificial intelligence to benefit enterprises. In particular, the discussions touched on opportunities to advance digital banking and fintech initiatives to enhance financial inclusion, in support of the continued development of Vietnam's digital financial services sector.

The leaders also discussed Sea’s upcoming investments, including SPX’s plans to launch one of Southeast Asia’s most advanced warehousing and parcel-sorting centers in Hưng Yên Province in 2027. The facility is expected to enhance logistics capabilities and support the continued growth of e-commerce in northern Vietnam.

The meeting underscored Vietnam’s importance as one of Sea’s key markets and reflected the company’s continued commitment to supporting the country’s digital transformation agenda, including the development of digital financial services and the broader digital economy.
