Taiwan, September 25, 2025 - In response to the devastating impact of Typhoon Ragasa, Shopee Taiwan has partnered with World Vision Taiwan and The Mustard Seed Mission— both long-time advocates for communities in Hualien—to support families in urgent need. Together, they have launched an online fundraising campaign through Shopee’s Charity Page, and members of the public can make one-time donations starting from NT$100. Each NT$100 contribution will help provide emergency relief funds, food, daily essentials, and support for house repairs and cleanup efforts—delivering timely assistance to families as they begin to recover and rebuild their lives.
Typhoon Ragasa brought days of heavy rainfall that caused the overflow of the Mataian Creek landslide dam, triggering widespread flooding and mudflows across Guangfu Township. As emergency response efforts continue, planning for long-term reconstruction has become a critical priority. Shopee remains committed to standing with affected communities and supporting their path to recovery through technology-driven solutions and meaningful partnerships.
This year marks the eighth year of Shopee’s collaboration with charities to support fundraising initiatives. Shopee continues to waive transaction fees for all charities raising funds through Shopee Charity, maximizing the impact of every donation. To date, more than 100 organizations have joined Shopee’s “Donate NT$100” initiative. Beyond emergency relief, Shopee Charity also supports causes such as women and children, stray animals, persons with disabilities, and underprivileged elderly groups.
