Belitung, July 12, 2025 - On July 11, 2025, Monee Indonesia (through ShopeePay and SeaBank) launched its Kelas TUNAI (Teman UMKM Naik Omset Lewat Literasi Finansial) program in Belitung as part of its broader commitment to advancing financial inclusion and literacy across Indonesia. Held at the Integrated Business Service Center (PLUT) in Tanjung Pandan, the event gathered local micro and small business (UMKM) participants eager to enhance their knowledge and digital capabilities.
Aligned with Indonesia’s National Blueprint for Payment Systems 2025-2030 and in collaboration with the Ministry of MSMEs, Kelas TUNAI aims to close the financial access gap for MSMEs, of which only 30% are currently integrated with formal financial services. By bringing structured, easy-to-practice literacy modules to underserved areas like Belitung, the program directly supports the national agenda for inclusive economic growth.
The curriculum covered financial planning, digital security, business reporting, and practical use of financial services and tools, including QRIS, e-statements, and fintech apps. According to pre- and post-test evaluations, participants showed an average increase of 67% in their financial literacy scores, highlighting the immediate impact of this education initiative.
One of the program's most inspiring participants, Zulyanti, started her pineapple-based snack business, 2Y, with only Rp500,000 in 2016. Through years of perseverance, including navigating COVID-19 disruptions, she now not only supports her family's education but also creates jobs for neighbors by hiring them to help with production.
Another local entrepreneur, Ningsih, founder of Dapur Kreasi Mama Aura (DKM Aura), leveraged her creativity during the pandemic by innovating with local ingredients like red fern (pakis merah). Her business, which started with a single snack product, now offers more than 10 items and employs local women on a rotating basis. Her expansion was made possible after obtaining financing support to build a certified production facility.
Monee remains committed to strengthening digital financial literacy across regions by collaborating with government bodies and local institutions. Belitung marks the beginning of a nationwide literacy outreach campaign under the Kelas TUNAI umbrella, building a foundation for inclusive and resilient microenterprises.
