São Paulo, January 2, 2025 – For the third consecutive year, Shopee Brazil carried out the "Christmas Letters" initiative, enabling shoppers to sponsor children up to 17 years old from Associação Arco, an organization dedicated to the social development of communities in Jardim Ângela, in São Paulo's southern region.
Between November 16 and December 10, shoppers were able to access letters written by the children, enabling donors to choose who they wanted to support. The campaign was a resounding success, with over 1,000 requests fulfilled in just four days.
On December 19, the gifts were delivered by Shopee employees participating in the Corporate Volunteering Program, creating a memorable moment of celebration and solidarity. Over 5,000 items, including toys and school supplies donated by Brazilian sellers on the platform, were distributed, bringing joy and hope to the children supported by Associação Arco.
The initiative is part of the Shopee Donations program, which leverages technology to create a positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities in vulnerable situations. The project aims to unite consumers, employees, and partners to transform lives through social initiatives.
“We are very proud of this project, now in its third edition. We are delighted to provide a moment of joy for the children and to strengthen the spirit of solidarity among our consumers,” says Felipe Piringer, Head of Marketing at Shopee Brazil.
