Brazil, September 30, 2024 - Shopee, in collaboration with Invest Paraná, has launched a new initiative to showcase the products of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Paraná, Brazil. The newly introduced "From Paraná to Brazil" section on Shopee’s platform offers local entrepreneurs the opportunity to reach millions of consumers across Brazil and beyond, enhancing their visibility and expanding their sales potential.
This initiative stems from the Shopee VRS Incubation Program, which provided training for over 20 local producers who previously lacked an online sales presence. The program, which promotes sustainable economic development, encourages regional production while preserving traditional manufacturing processes.
Through this partnership, Invest Paraná and Shopee are helping small producers from various regions of Paraná sell their products on one of the world’s leading ecommerce platforms. The program focuses on fostering sustainable value chains by supporting micro and small entrepreneurs.
Eduardo Bekin, CEO of Invest Paraná, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in opening new sales channels for local producers. “Our goal is to build sustainable value chains for micro and small entrepreneurs, leveraging Invest Paraná’s network to benefit this community. The objective is for them to gain the skills needed to sell on any digital platform,” he explained.
Luciana Hachmann, Shopee Brazil’s Head of Government Relations, highlighted that the partnership is aligned with Shopee’s mission to empower Brazilian entrepreneurs through technology. “Following the training and guidance phase, we are now excited to offer these entrepreneurs increased visibility on our platform and assist them in boosting their sales,” she remarked.
The entrepreneurs participating in this initiative were selected through a public call for applications. They are active in the Sustainable Regional Vocations (VRS) program, which includes regions such as the Atlantic Forest, the Center-South area, the Miringuava Dam in São José dos Pinhais, and the Ribeira Valley.
Out of the 30 available spots, 23 producers completed a 196-hour remote training course, which spanned over four months. The training covered essential topics such as product description, storytelling, logistics, inventory management, and pricing strategies for online platforms, equipping entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools to succeed in ecommerce.
The "From Paraná to Brazil" section is now live on Shopee, providing consumers with the chance to explore and purchase unique products from Paraná’s SMEs. This initiative plays a crucial role in promoting regional entrepreneurship and driving sustainable economic growth in Paraná and beyond.
Shopee and Invest Paraná remain committed to supporting the long-term success of local businesses, fostering innovation, and contributing to economic prosperity in the region.
