Singapore, February 28, 2024 – Garena Call of Duty: Mobile has partnered with leading audio technology brand JBL to introduce JBL Quantum Game Theory, a programme designed to revolutionize student engagement with educational material. This collaboration invites student participants to immerse themselves in gamified learning modules, as they take on challenges and reach milestones within the game.
The programme was unveiled on February 21 and 22 at ITE College East, with over 200 students actively participating in the games. Embracing the captivating charms of gaming, JBL Quantum Game Theory goes beyond conventional textbooks to elevate engagement, motivation, and, most importantly, enhance learning outcomes.
Where Gaming Meets Academia
To amplify the excitement, Garena and JBL constructed an esports arena on campus grounds. The arena boasted audience seating and broadcast stations showcasing live gameplay from participating players on a big screen.
Participants began by completing a quiz on select subject modules, with their scores determining the equipment they would receive in the subsequent Call of Duty: Mobile match. The top scorers of the custom in-game match were rewarded with prizes including JBL Quantum Headsets and 1,500 Call of Duty Points. Additionally, all participants also received a Quantum Pass, unlocking discounts on JBL's product range and providing exclusive in-game rewards for Call of Duty: Mobile, a first for student gamers in Singapore.
By blending educational syllabi with elements of excitement and interaction, through gaming elements like badges, leaderboards, and rewards, JBL Quantum Game Theory taps into the intrinsic human drive for accomplishment. This transforms learning into an enjoyable, engaging, and rewarding journey.
“Together with our partners, we are not just shaping the future of learning but also redefining how students engage with educational content and fostering a love for learning through the exciting lens of gaming," said Benjamin Tan, Senior Manager, Integrated Marketing APAC at HARMAN International, parent company of JBL.
Following a successful pilot run, the programme is set to expand across more of Singapore’s tertiary institutions in 2024, with plans to launch in other Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines, later this year.
